DFW Capital Partners announced today that Douglas H. Gilbert has joined the firm as a General Partner, and will be based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
Doug comes to DFW with an extensive 20 year background in private equity and debt investing. For five years prior to joining DFW, Doug was a Managing Director with MCG Capital Corporation (NASDAQ: MCGC), a publicly-traded business development company focused on senior, mezzanine and (historically) direct private equity investments in middle market operating companies. While at MCG, Doug was a senior member of the firm’s deal origination, execution and portfolio management team, completing transactions in excess of $250 million in enterprise value. Prior to MCG, Doug was a Partner with Winston Partners, a lower-middle market focused private equity firm. During Doug’s four years with Winston, he was involved in several successful management buyout and growth equity transactions. Doug came to Winston from Thayer Capital Partners, a Washington, D.C. based private equity firm. Doug joined Thayer as an associate, and over a seven year tenure with the firm, rose to the level of Managing Director and Partner.
